The fourth in the series of talking-mule movies sees O'Connor trying to become an ace reporter on a New York City newspaper with the help of his braying friend. Francis comes up with several scoops and tips O'Connor so that the fledgling newshound can impress the city editor. The tables
turn, however, and O'Connor is framed on a murder rap. It takes Francis to save him when the big-eared beast-of-burden testifies to his pal's innocence on the witness stand.
