Francesca

This charming pseudodocumentary recounts the life of "Francesca Aramonte," a German actress raised in a convent who became a star for Federico Fellini. We never see Francesca (a wholly fictional character), though her life and influence are recounted by friends, enemies, and colleagues. Lissa, an unhappy widowed countess, recalls how she found Francesca as a baby. Her husband, a cruel, self-centered man, refused to let her keep the foundling so Francesca was given to convent nuns.
