Above-average crime yarn involves unemployed mining engineer Ford, who is making a living as a truck driver and is suddenly seduced by Carter. Her plan is to inveigle Ford into taking an embezzling rap for her lover, Sullivan, a bank vice-president. Sullivan robs the bank, but she kills him for the loot, trying to encourage Ford to run away with her now that she truly loves him.
