F.P. 1 Doesn't Answer

Hans Albers, Germany's No. 1 matinee idol, carries this fine UFA film. It concerns a pilot's efforts to save an "island"--F.P. 1 (Floating Platform 1) in the mid-Atlantic. He succeeds in getting an airplane hanger built on the island, but learns it is endangered when his fickle lover tells him of a radio message she overheard. He saves F.P. 1 from a traitor and, instead of staying with his one-time gal, he flies off alone. The charming Albers was able to fill theaters all across Germany, and was the major reason for the picture's success.
