This rollicking slapstick comedy seems to go against all casting traditions, with Joan Crawford in the female lead. The usual 1930s sophisticated treatment is tossed aside in favor of clowning which is just this side of Mack Sennett. Crawford and Clark Gable are childhood pals who have stayed on good terms through adolescence and into adulthood.
