Routine romantic triangle featuring hefty Metropolitan Opera tenor Gigli as a widowed tenor (what else?) who becomes involved with and marries young British clerical worker Gardner, who is on the emotional rebound after a frustrating romance with handsome ship's officer Brandt. Trouble
looms on the horizon, however, when Gardner and Brandt run into each other while Gigli is on a spectacularly successful world tour. The former lovers are soon mooning over each other again, much to the dismay of Gigli, who becomes so emotionally distraught that he can't perform. Gardner realizes
it is Gigli she truly loves, and she returns to his open arms.
