MacMurray is a forest ranger who suspects a recent rash of fires in his district is arson. He ventures to a nearby town in search of the criminal and meets Goddard, a beautiful rich girl. They fall in love and marry, but his fellow rangers have trouble accepting this female addition to their domain. Hayward, the daughter of a lumber baron, has always loved MacMurray from afar and is upset by his marriage.
