English businessman Gwenn is preparing his home for a meeting with well-to-do financiers he hopes will provide backing for his scheme to get his ailing business back on its feet. Dodging bill collectors and others of such ilk, he frantically tries to prepare his home, with comic results. The electrician who has arrived to turn out the lights for the long term is not who he wants financiers to see. The electrician becomes very attracted to Gwenn's daughter. Using her as a bargaining chip, Gwenn persuades the electrician to keep the lights on and finds $100,000 in counterfeit bills left by criminals escaping the law.
