Flynn, in a delightful, non-historical role, is an amateur criminologist who earns his living as an investment counselor. At night, without wife Marshall's knowing, he slips outside and plays sleuth, looking for crimes to solve so he can write some mysteries under his nom-de-plume, F.X. Pettijohn.
