Footlight Serenade

Boxer Mature lands a role in a Broadway play and quickly makes a move on dancer Grable, who is secretly married to another of the actors. Her husband, Payne, is not content to sit back and watch his wife be fawned over. As fate would have it, the play has Payne's character get in a brawl with Mature's. When it comes time to deliver the fake blow, Payne sends the boxer down for a 10-count. The cinematography by Garmes is striking, though the score is feeble.
