Robards, a middle-aged ex-horror film star, has had enough of Hollywood, so he moves to San Francisco. There he stumbles on Ross, runaway wife of lawyer Hylands, and the two fall profoundly in love. When the husband sends a detective to pry into their affairs, Ross decides it's time to confront him. She meets Hylands to explain her predicament, but he later shoots her when she tries to ignore him. The cast is misguided and their performances, under Gries's direction, appear unmotivated. Kenny Rogers and the First Edition sing the treacherously hip song "Someone Who Cares" (Alex Harvey) and "A Poem I Wrote for Your Hair" (Paul Parrish). Other songs include "If You Love" (Mimi Farina) sung by Ross, Farina. This film is along the same line as PETULIA and just as bad. leave a comment
