Early 1950s Commie-phobia links the Russians to space invaders in this historically interesting sci-fi film. Agent Conrad heads to Alaska in search of a UFO which turns out to be a Soviet aircraft. This is the first film to concern itself with UFO sightings and to use the term "flying
saucer." It is reported that the FBI viewed this film before its release; besides the anti-Red propaganda, one hopes that Hoover and company appreciated Tannura's fine lensing of the Alaskan landscapes.
