The Flower Thief: Review

An early counterculture "art" film shot in 16mm in San Francisco between the years 1959-60. Mead stars as a homosexual beatnik who carries a teddy bear, an American flag, and a flower around the city, where he is involved in a series of disconnected incidents. He eventually picks up a man at an amusement park, and they walk off into the sea. The soundtrack includes excerpts from Alice In Wonderland. Pretentious and archaic. leave a comment
