Strong-jawed Holt and rival Graves are Marine Corps fliers in Nicaragua battling for the love of Lee. Soap opera cliches are made tolerable by wonderful aerial sequences. Capra persuaded the Marine Corps to extend full cooperation. He was given the use of nine Curtis fighter bombers with
full crews and the Marine base at North Island near San Diego was thrown open to Capra and his film crew. Two of the pilots performing astounding stunts for FLIGHT included Bill Williams and Jerry Jerome, both later generals in the Corps.
