Commonplace aviator picture about a jungle plane crash in which the pilot survives and the co-pilot doesn't. The survivor goes into exile, leaving his son to be raised as an air corps cadet. The cohesive performance is Ford's: he plays the son who meets and falls in love with the
co-pilot's daughter. The unconvincing finale has dad re-entering the service as a private while the son has worked his way up to lieutenant. Dad sacrifices his own life when he volunteers to test a new plane in place of his son. Inept cutting and poor transitions further demolish a film with a
plot old enough to have applied to chariot testing.
