Originally shot in 1981, FLICKS is a painfully unfunny movie spoof that was never given a theatrical release and for good reason. Despite some of the people involved (including such talented comedians as Martin Mull, Richard Belzer, and Harry Shearer), this is a moronic mess. Essentially
the film is a series of blackout sketches poking fun at such things as newsreels, cartoons, and coming attractions. There are also a couple of extended film parodies. "Night of the Living Corpse" is a mini-horror film featuring Mull and Betty Kennedy in an all-stops-pulled affair that heaps on
cliche after cliche without eliciting much laughter. "Philip Alien, Space Detective" goes...
