There have been many movies made about wrestling since this effort by John Ford, but few come close to the feeling generated by the actors here, particularly Wallace Beery, playing a sweet-natured German grappler who is taken advantage of by a pair of ex-convicts. Sexy Lora (Karen Morley) persuades Polikai (Beery) to secure the prison release of her lover, Nicky (Ricardo Cortez), who she claims is her brother. When Lora becomes pregnant, Nicky disappears, and Polikai and Lora are married and emigrate to the US, where Polikai, already the German champion, becomes the world title holder. In short order, Nicky reappears, becomes Polikai's manager, and tries to get him...
