The Flesh Is Weak

1957, Movie, NR, 88 mins

Vitale is the stereotypical innocent country girl who visits big city London and becomes a hooker. She has an affair with a pimp and goes to jail in a frame-up. A do-gooding journalist convinces her to talk, and her beau ends up behind bars. The backers thought the film could succeed as both a social commentary and an entertaining drama; instead it is a mediocre bucket of sleaze. leave a comment
