Tony Curtis plays a deaf-mute prizefighter who is moving up quickly in the rankings when he falls hard for a singer (Jan Sterling) who sees him as nothing more than a meal ticket. A pretty journalist (Mona Freeman) recognizes that he's much more than just a potential champion and helps him get an operation that restores his hearing, which he loses again during the title match but regains after realizing which of the two women is really right for him (you guess).
