Confusion reigns in the West as hypochondriacal sidekick Burnette is mistaken for a notorious robber with a $66,000 price on his head. While the good Burnette languishes in jail, the bad one tries to hold up the stage bringing the reward money. Carson foils the attempt, but by the time he's managed to convince the sheriff of what's going on, the robber has kidnaped his double out of jail and taken his place so he can steal the reward money in the safe.
