When this picture is good, it's mildly funny. When it's bad (which is more often the case), it is just abysmal. Gardenia owns a failing department store where son Reiner is his assistant, one who acts like a whipped dog. Other son Arkin left long ago to become a basketball coach. Comer is married to Arkin and wants a child; Arkin wants a winning team, so he adopts black teenager Stewart in an attempt to satisfy both their needs. Nutty uncle Caesar, a WW II veteran, is brought in to burn down the store.
