Good battles bad in the world of martial arts--this seems to be the theme behind this insipid bit of nonsense. Casillas is a college coed living in a small California town where St. Esprit, a big rich brat, causes her nothing but trouble. St. Esprit tries to have his father foreclose on the business of Casilla's father. Although she knows nothing about martial arts, Casillas challenges St. Esprit to a fight. If she wins, the mortgage is lifted; if he wins, he "has his way" with her. She then finds a mentor, Zano, for lessons in fight techniques. This is nothing more than a grade-Z ripoff of THE KARATE KID. Apart from her flips and kicks, Casillas isn't much of an actress, but at least her amateurism blends well with the quality of this film. This movie might have been tolerable had it been treated with some sense of humor; instead, it's a boring waste of celluloid. leave a comment
