Fingers At The Window

A real thriller, which has the patients of an insane asylum turned into ax murderers by psychotic Rathbone. Day, the victim of an attack, is saved at the last minute by actor-turned-sleuth Ayres, who then proceeds to expose Rathbone and his victims. This was the last film for Ayres until after WW II. He was shipped off to the Medical Corps after announcing that he was a conscientious objector. Americans were loath to accept Ayres as a legitimate cinema hero following the disclosure of what many regarded as his cowardice.
