The Fighter

Filipe Rivera (Richard Conte) travels north of the border to El Paso to join his Mexican compatriots who are plotting to overthrow the tyrannical Porfirio Diaz. In flashback, we see how Filipe's family and sweetheart were killed and his village destroyed by Diaz's soldiers. This memory gives Filipe the last-minute strength to triumph in a winner-take-all boxing match--the purse of which he contributes to the cause, providing arms for the guerrilla forces led by Durango (Lee J.
