Formby is a clumsy worker at a record factory who accidentally breaks an irreplaceable master disc. To cover up his mistake, he replaces the broken record with one of his own voice. Naturally enough, the record is released and becomes a big hit. Not one of Formby's best films, but mildly enjoyable, nonetheless. One of a number of films prolific American director Beaudine made in England in the mid-1930s. Formby sings "Leaning on a Lamppost," which actually did become a hit. leave a comment
