Fear No More

Powers plays a young woman who is framed for murder when she is sent on a train to San Francisco (from Los Angeles) on business by her boss, Harding. She is knocked unconscious in her sleeping compartment, only to waken next to the corpse of a woman who had been sharing the compartment. Police detective Karnes takes Powers off the train, but she escapes and is picked up on the road by Bergerac. The friendly motorist accompanies the distraught woman into her home where she discovers the dead body of her friend Baer, an alcoholic writer whom she had let use her apartment for the weekend.
