A disappointing satire that pokes at the Catholic Church without ever really puncturing it. Rey is a cardinal who returns to his hometown after 30 years to find his illegitimate daughter by a servant girl. The servant girl has long since married a shepherd; the daughter, Abril, has become a prostitute, who in turn has also borne a daughter out of wedlock.
