In Swanson's return to the screen after a seven-year hiatus, she marries Menjou, a shipping magnate, and they honeymoon aboard a cruise ship. But it's no smooth sail. Stowaway Arnaz plays marriage counselor, and helps the two get on smoother waters. Weak direction, and a script void of humor, sinks this film. RKO's publicity department pulled out all the stops for this one, broadly advertising that "there's glamour on the screen again because Gloria's back." No one seemed to care if the faded flickering image of the silent era with the bee-stung lips returned or not. Swanson blamed the failure for this film on director Hively, later stating that his experience was limited because he "had never been out of Pomona."
