Father Takes A Wife

In Swanson's return to the screen after a seven-year hiatus, she marries Menjou, a shipping magnate, and they honeymoon aboard a cruise ship. But it's no smooth sail. Stowaway Arnaz plays marriage counselor, and helps the two get on smoother waters. Weak direction, and a script void of humor, sinks this film. RKO's publicity department pulled out all the stops for this one, broadly advertising that "there's glamour on the screen again because Gloria's back."
