Ford is a flight director for a commercial airline who personally investigates a crash that killed 53 people. The pilot of the plane (Taylor) was a wartime friend and, knowing he was one of the best, Ford sets out to clear his name. With the surviving stewardess, Pleshette, he re-enacts the fatal crash and discovers that a short circuit caused the disaster.
