Ferguson takes up a dare by two Englishmen to stay in a haunted house. Settling down with a candle, a gun, and a thriller about two Victorian sisters who are killed in a ghost-ridden house, he reads and falls asleep to dream about the sisters. Waking up startled, he sees a ghost, fires at it, and faints. Scene shifts. Much later, the two Englishmen again meet Ferguson, who had vanished.
