Fast Company: Review
The first screen version of George M. Cohan and Ring Lardner's play "Elmer the Great," FAST COMPANY stars Jack Oakie as Elmer Kane, a home run-hitting hayseed who becomes a New York Yankee and singlehandedly defeats gangsters
and
the Pittsburgh Pirates to win the World Series. This mildly entertaining early sound comedy was remade in 1933 with Joe B. Brown, and again in 1939 as COWBOY QUARTERBACK, with the sport changed to football.
