Marty Black (Tom Brown), a crooked jockey, and Silk Henley (James Gleason) conspire to swindle the punters at small-town racetracks. When Midge (Mickey Rooney), a plucky orphan, arrives on the scene, Marty mends his ways and falls for Sally (Maureen O'Sullivan), a boardinghouse
proprietress. Although hardly a first-rate track film, FAST COMPANIONS contains enough laughs and action to make it enjoyable.
