Russ Meyer (VIXEN, SUPER VIXEN) directed this sexploitation fare adapted from John Cleland's novel. Cheap and tasteless aren't adequate adjectives to describe this production. Roman is Fanny, a country girl who goes to London, loses her virginity, and finds herself in a brothel. Hopkins, who starred in the 1932 version of DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, is the helpful Madam. In the end, Fanny marries the sailor she loves. It is a very watered-down version of the erotic novel with barren directing from Meyer. Production values are slipshod, with careless editing (shots don't match), poor dubbing, and lame narration. leave a comment
