Barton plays an Irish pub owner who travels to the US to find out why his son, Harrigan, hasn't been writing to him. He discovers his son in the midst of a hot Iowa mayoral election. At the request of his snobby socialite wife, Harrigan changes his last name and denies his Irish heritage. Barton's arrival in town messes up his plans and Harrigan's past becomes public knowledge. All turns out well, however, when the city's Irish votes win him the election. leave a comment
