FAMILY BUSINESS tells the story of the McMullen clan, a New York family consisting of Jessie (Sean Connery), a 65-year-old thief with a vibrant personality and devious ideas; his son Vito (Dustin Hoffman), a onetime crook who now runs a meat-packing business; and Vito's son Adam (Matthew Broderick), a Westinghouse scholar with a bright future. Adam and his grandfather approach Vito with a very lucrative plan to steal test tubes full of experimental gene-splicing plasmas that will revolutionize science.
