A refreshingly gentle western starring McCrea as an honest rancher who is forced to rob a bank to save the family homestead, though he leaves the bank an IOU. Sheriff Bickford is sent to capture him. On the run, McCrea meets Dee and the pair fall in love, but he is forced to ride off to avoid the ever-vigilant Bickford.
