Whitmore's talents are barely employed as he rescues a young boy from a raging inferno, and in turn is grossly disfigured. Once adored by the townsfolk, Whitmore is mentally disfigured by his ordeal as well. His bitter treatment by his neighbors nearly causes murderous results. An oddly interesting adaptation of Stephen Crane's story which was wrongly promoted as a horror picture. leave a comment
