Jane (Lauren Tewes) is a TV newswoman trying to protect her deaf, dumb, and blind sister (Jennifer Jason Leigh) from the homicidal crazy next door (John DiSanti). Making her big-screen debut, Tewes, the perky cruise director on "The Love Boat," fails miserably in this utterly derivative, offensive, and tedious thriller, which was turned into a slasher movie at the 11th hour after producers saw how well FRIDAY THE 13TH did at the box office. Near the end of shooting, gore-effects whiz Tom Savini was hired to insert some graphic murders into the film. Unfortunately, this is merely another slobbering, mindless, and reprehensible effort that exploits the rape and murder of women for pure sensation. leave a comment
