Oscar Micheaux was the grand showman of the early black cinema and this is one of his typical works. The plot is largely an excuse for some fantastic musical numbers, but for what it's worth, Morrell is in love with a girl who decides she wants to turn her mansion into a bordello. He
leaves her and goes west, where he falls in love with a white girl, only to find she has Negro blood. Much more interesting as a cultural artifact than as a movie; chances are no prints remain.
