Forgettable newspaper drama with crusading reporter Erwin helping kindly storekeeper MacDonald keep out of the hands of numbers racketeers. This film exploited the topical theme of the Harlem numbers racket being taken over by organized crime, a Hearst newspaper headliner of the day, and
also included a far-fetched side plot involving a steamship disaster resembling the
Morro Castle conflagration two years earlier. Calleia's gangster is the best thing here.
