McLaglen is a former boxing champ reduced to being a doorman at a nightclub, while his ambitious son works his way up Wall Street and prepares to marry a banker's daughter. In his spare time McLaglen trains a promising young welterweight (Brown). Briggs, the son, gets into trouble for embezzling some funds, but his father tries to put it right by instructing his fighter to throw the fight, while he bets heavily on the opponent, Chissel. Sidekick Frawley saves the day, though, by betting an even larger sum on Brown, who naturally wins. Pleasant enough, but no more. leave a comment
