Director Sam Raimi struck again with this manic, and very funny, sequel to his stunningly inventive 1983 low-budget fever dream, The Evil Dead. It's less a rehash than a remake: Ash (Bruce Campbell), the sole survivor of the first film, ventures out to that same lonely cabin for a romantic weekend with his girlfriend (Denise Bixler).
