Loosely based on a true story, this film tells the story of Kotler who, on the eve of the Six-Day War, tried to fly his small plane to Cairo to plead for peace with Gamal Abdel Nasser. He is forced down over the Sinai, and the outbreak of the war finds him unable to get back to join the
Israeli army. This is not especially funny or poignant--emotions it strives for--but there is a 20-minute tank battle staged with British-built Israeli tanks and captured Russian-built Egyptian tanks that is highly exciting. Actual films of the Israeli-Arab war are included in the picture.
