Evangeline

1929, Movie, NR, 87 mins

Longfellow's poem about the trials of the exiled Arcadians is the subject of this early talker. The only line of dialog (excluding the songs) comes at the end of the film when Del Rio's lover dies in her arms after a long separation. Several good songs, one of them written by Al Jolson and Billy Rose. leave a comment
