Collins stars as the biblical Jewish heroine Esther, who marries Persian king Egan in order to make him stop his persecution of her people, managing to do so after two tortuous hours. Collins further undermines this travesty of the Bible, a late entry from director Raoul Walsh, by playing Esther without a shred of conviction. leave a comment
