Reporter Carson covers the funeral of a gangster Norris and learns the redeeming story of the hood's life. Doctor Reicher tells the tale, beginning with Norris' release from prison. Norris' father (Armetta) begs him to go straight, but the son pulls off a warehouse heist instead. Armetta turns him in and Norris' pals kidnap the district attorney's daughter to spring him.
