Holden's first movie at MGM features him as a captain in the Union Army who watches over a stockade in Arizona filled with Confederate rebels. He brings escaped prisoner Lupton back to the prison with a noose around his neck to show any of the others that the same fate awaits them if they dare attempt to flee.
