Travis is an ex-convict newspaper photographer who is persecuted by a suspicious detective and only wins a pardon after putting away his old gang. A young Jackie Gleason makes a brief appearance carrying a mysterious middle initial which, it can be supposed, was a carryover from his
earlier high-faluting idea to continue on as a composer, arranger, and conductor, which had already won him some fame. A remake of PICTURE SNATCHER (1933) with James Cagney.
