This unabashed ripoff of John Carpenter's 1981 action film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK opens in that handy catch-all era: the near future. Residents of the Bronx are being forced to leave their homes for resettlement camps in New Mexico. It is the dream of Henry Silva, president of a development corporation, to level the area and create an exciting, modern living space.
